I am intrigued by this Twin Flame/Soul Mate concept and found this interesting. An article by Anja Heij on Search for Wholeness: Male-Female Twin Souls.
She opens up the article with this quote...
"The worlds are just a playground of the you and I, the colorful mask of the two-in-one, I am in you like you are in me, oh love."
Sri Aurobindo wrote these beautiful words, describing the twin soul relationship. Twin souls or twin flames are the male and female half soul whom together form a conscious, developed soul.
How beautiful is that?
First I found this. The nitty gritty. The reality of the process we all face toward the growth and healing of our ego-self. In order to manifest the ideal "soul mate" one must work on the self first and foremost.
Before one can physically unite with their Twin Soul, one must do the conscious work of healing and becoming whole within their self. Twin Soul love cannot exist in a codependent, ego-based relationship, or from a perceived "need" that the other person will make you whole. Both must often face separations while they strengthen their own connection to Spirit and find their strength and purpose on their own.
Each half will find balance in their male/female, yin/yang before union. When both halves of the Soul become strong pillars on their own, have healed and resolved karmic ties in the present life, then they can unite to fulfill their Divine purpose, but the challenges do not end. There is an intensity that can be frightening when dealing with your mirror, your weaknesses and strengths magnified, unresolved issues and wounds painfully open to push you to further healing, or cause ego to run from the relationship in fear. It's important for Twin Souls to find their greater purpose, whether it's a task they will accomplish together, or alone, there will be work to be done.
I love that the sense of self and wholeness must be the primary focus. As I am always asking "who am I?". There is no room for control, disfunction, habitual patterns that are no longer serving the higher self, or clinging to the need for the other to fulfill me. A highly aware and conscious union goes far beyond the mundane in life, and has no choice but to be moved to a higher calling. An elevated purpose as two souls become something else; an energy meant to amplify and accelerated the accession process.
A coming together of two vibrations to generate entrainment (refers to the synchronization of organisms to an external rhythm) which can and most likely will facilitate a profound awakening. The symbolic representation of the "twin flames" coming together to create one larger and brighter fire-thus allowing for a more powerful burn. The burn of karma. The burn of the pain-body.
Eckart Tolle speaks of the pain-body as "a negative energy field that occupies your mind and body", basically stored negative emotion which hides the true self. And in order to "dissolve the ego" we must dissolve the pain-body. In essence the pain-body is the ego 's way of disguising the being-ness of consciousness; hiding the diamond within the black coal.
In our intimate relationships we can not help to be reflected back to ourselves. The mirror is the other. As we see ourselves reflected and are "unconscious" the pain body is triggered, and the false self is revealed. Here lies the perfect storm. This is the ideal place for profound and significant burning of outdated patterns that are no longer serving the higher self. The habits and addictions that are hiding the diamond beneath the the dark coal.
But this alchemy of transformation is only available as one stays in the "now" beyond the mind's need for dwelling within the limits of past and future. That is to say; if one stays present and aware in the being-ness of being. This is when and where the healing of the pain body can occur. Eckhart states it this way,
" Every-time you are present when the pain-body arises, some of the pain-body's negative emotional energy will burn up, as it were, and become transmuted into presence. The rest of the pain-body will quickly withdraw and wait for a better opportunity to arise, that is to say when you are less conscious...The pain-body needs your unconsciousness. It cannot tolerate the light of presence
By utilizing this powerful way of being, present to the pain-body as it is triggered, we have an incredible tool to significantly process our request for healing. As we continue to heal ourselves within and without the relationship. We will be more likely to attract the "soul mate" we so desire.
I enjoy the concept that I am my own soul mate. And the connection to my higher self is all I need to feel and be strong. Once I am here in this place of consciousness, the subtle and not so subtle awareness in knowing and wisdom grows. The ability to know "all that" has never left but is in a constant state of flux. The more I am one with this presence .The more I am able to love myself. And then and only then can I truly attract the love outside of myself. My outer reality will reflect the inner. St. Germain states it so succinctly,
"Now, experiencing consciousness within yourself, loving unconditionally that which you are as you exist and abide in your reality at this point in time, creates the resonance within your being that attracts the identical essence within the opposite body of soul energy. It calls it forth and merges with your energy and you with it."
In this complete fulfilled state we attract the opposite "twin flame" to actually coalesce, to be united into wholeness. The intimacy that we all innately desire. The ultimate merging and melting of two souls into one, symbolically and literally representing the ultimate "yoga" connection.
